Where none suffered, where everyone would be happy. It was a disaster. No one would accept the program. Entire crops were lost. Some believed we lacked the programming language to describe your perfect world. But I believe that, as a species, human beings define their reality through suffering and misery. The perfect world was a dream that your primitive cerebrum kept trying to wake up from. Which is why the Matrix was redesigned to this: the peak of your civilization.

-Agent Smith from the movie "The Matrix"

My father, Bill Gallagher’s favorite authors (whom he would quote so often in his keynote speaking) were Henry David Thoreau, Helen Keller, George Bernard Shaw, Werner Erhard and Shakespeare.

Thoreau once described, "The mass of mankind" as leading "lives of quiet desperation." While this was true of my father’s life as well, he believed more in the words of Helen Keller who said, "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature." and that "All the world is full of suffering. It is also full of overcoming."

In the 80's he was very inspired by a man named Werner Erhard who got many great idea's from Zen Buddhism, Werner said, "If you experience it, it’s the truth. The same thing believed is a lie. In life, understanding is the booby prize."

My father would often quote Shakespeare about the human condition written hundreds of years ago, "To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow, creeps in this petty pace from day to day. To the last syllable of recorded time, and all our yesterdays have lighted fools. The way to dusty death. Out, out, brief candle! Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more: it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."

Of all these authors, my father most believed in and lived his life like the words of George Bernard Shaw, who said:

"This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy. I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community, and as long as I live it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no "brief candle" for me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations."

Forgive all those you know. Love all those you meet, and make a difference in life while you’re here. Each moment is worth everything!

The only real truth is what we experience in the present moment, and dad taught me that always showing up and loving unconditionally was what it was all about.

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5161718910164906050" style="FLOAT: left; That means looking deep into the area of that which I don't know, I don't know. Yes, even the positive habits and really question their existence for me, often, even shedding the positive habits because they may be negative without my awareness that they are so. This was a very powerful insight for me, I thought, I am “a glass is half full kind of guy”, later; I learned that this optimistic way of being helped me, but it didn't transform me. The task is to empty the metaphorical cup completely, get rid of the cup, because even in doing so I am still not completely at nothing. The more I reach for nothing; the universe fills my cup up with something new and amazing like a vacuum filling air into a space. The metaphorical cup can't be at nothing, everything must be full, even the cup that is half full of water, must be half full with air. So my way of being or act was from the past, it was superficial, it was about “looking good”, now I get to this nothingness, now I have real transformation. Now I look deep into all my habits, and transform them, just to get good at transformation, that way, when real break downs occur or lesson presents itself, I can shed everything very fast and all at once, to allow a space for the possibility of everything and anything!

I had nothing to say, so I thought I would talk about the power of nothing

The power of No-thing.

I love this life, mostly I love the concept. That's all it is, it doesn’t really exist, nothing that is. It’s about a conversation, getting to nothing in my thinking of what’s so. It’s an endless process, the moment I touch nothing, my life fills up with even more of something, the good part is it’s a new something, and my vast experience with change and new is that new is often a lot better. I am a bit addicted to change, I spent my childhood trying to fix the world with every bit of information I could find, but I discovered this was me trying to fix my childhood. I got complete with that, and now I realize there is nothing to fix. I learned this concept of getting to nothing in my conversation, in my belief and thinking of the past, my hopes for the future. I learned it so many times, but I didn't get it, even knowing that I think I get this nothing concept, I still have situations in life that test my belief in it. The more I am achieving nothing, the more life doesn’t allow me to stay there for long. You can't teach nothing to people, it counter intuitive, it doesn’t make sense, since cave times mankind needed to have something, since we lived in scarcity, we need to hoard our resources, but even at this time, nothing was the secret to life, but then survival didn’t need us to have any secrets, lizards have survived for a long time without this secret. We need the secret of nothing - (no past, no future, and no spoon) because we have words which allow us to choose how we are being in any given moment. This was a gift of evolution and a curse. It allows us to powerfully choose something new, and with a simple thought, change how we are being in a given moment, at the same time, the pattern survival brain fights us to keep things safe and the same.

I will never arrive; I will never end this path.

But my life is so powerful now! I quit my job, and got 10 offers making a lot more money! I sell my car, and get a better car for a lot less money! I give up my past beliefs about family and friends, and now they love me and all my relationship rock! I stop having fears about retirement, and my retirement starts to grow expedentially! I could keep going on....but I think you get the idea.

It’s not nothing, it’s no thing, or it’s no thought, or it’s no past beliefs, maybe it’s that there is no spoon, but that doesn’t describe it. What I learned is that we put our past into our future, this puts our past into our future in our present possible moment, so we are living our past in our future right now, and that doesn’t work. The past has very little to do with now, our consideration about life right now have little to do with what is, and our future isn’t here anyways. But maybe you enlighten folks can tell me how lost I really am in this nothing...

I didn’t have anything to say either so I wrote this nothing, I wasn’t even sure how to say nothing, and given what I said, it’s nothing really. But I hope you liked my nothing, I really needed to say it, to fully keep my brain from creating something out of this nothing. I appreciate a space of nothing to put together this nothing concept and mostly the sharing is so very powerful, I can't have the power of nothingness unless you all hear my nothing rant and keep me in the space of being nothing. I thank you for nothing, I love you for nothing everything, I hope nothing touches your life and gives you everything and anything from this clearing in the realm of infinite possibility brought about from nothing.

Unlimited Possibility with no Expectations, no past or future, no spoon

Everything and Anything can be created with a blank slate, a clearing if you will, we are magic; everything in our lives is a product of the energy we draw towards ourselves. By letting go of the past, forgetting all that you know, you open yourself up to unlimited possibility, your present possibility has nothing to do with anything in your past, and when you create from the space of now, do so with no expectations, this will stop you from moving the future into your past, which will create more past in your present and again stop your creation, by putting the past in your future. Just declare anything in words, then tell it to a friend, then say it to yourself - three times a day for two weeks, then set out to doing it, and everything and anything will become possible for yourself and your life. That’s how the magic works, not by just doing it, but by BE-Do-Having it all! The Be part is an affirmation you tell yourself, it must be done in words that are in the present tense, and with no negative words, this is the power of the subconscious mind, the breathing reactive mind that multi tasks any thought or words like a computer. Dare I say, that below our awareness a miracle occurs that we can not see, that quantum leaps us to this possibility when we create like this, this is the mystery, be in the mystery. We are bio monkey robots, capable of so much, use the power that you are and everything will be yours in this life!

Real life is magic: what IS, is beyond our imagination!

Be. Do. Have.

More on the subject called Nothing

I want to talk about this again, because the minute I achieve a clearing called nothing, life is created anew. New possibilities open up; real magic becomes possible… so I must continue writing, discussing nothing to reaffirm it in my life.

It really makes no sense; it doesn't even have any meaning. It's beyond reason of everything and anything we know to be true to say that the secret to life is getting to nothing. It occurs to us that life is just what it is. So we assume, we make life into our own meaning, we create our own reasons. We live in our own past and future because we think that what is, is nothing special.

But real life is magic, what is, is beyond our imagination. And because we make it into our reasons, our meanings, life becomes something else and we lose the magic in those moments.

Magic, miracles, possibility only become possible when we create a clearing called nothing.

A blank space must be achieved again and again to have everything and anything become possible in your life anew. And it’s always transformed from the way it was. It’s better than it was every time, this new possibility from the clearing called nothing. See, enlightenment is not a destination; magic can only become possible by the clearing you create once you get to nothing.

Magic can't be created from your meanings, reasons, past or future. Magic is created with words that you declare from a completely new space in the moment of now. You must attempt to reach the space of nothing, and then declare with your magical words your possibility, and finally share this new possibility with everyone you can. This will recreate your life.

Be nothing, then Be a new possibility, then share this new possibility, then do this new possibility, then you will have every possibility you desire for your life. Be. Do. Have... in that order, and the magic will appear in your life.

In the old way of thinking, you went about doing things, living in your past or future to be something, to have what you want, but this way isn't the path. Look deep inside yourself, you will discover the truth in what I am saying. It’s an ongoing process to get to nothing. In fact, it’s not even possible to be in nothing for very long. The minute you reach it, you empty your cup of life, life fills it again.

When you shut down your thoughts in meditation, thoughts come rushing back in. But if you are stuck with the past problems and beliefs/thoughts of your life, these do not serve you. You are putting your past or future into your present possibility. Thus possibility cannot be created, and we wonder why, so we must constantly reaffirm nothing to have everything and anything!
Magic can only become possible by the clearing you create once you get to nothing.

Be. Do. Have.
